10 Great Things Every Dancer Needs In Their Dance Bag

  • Dance Bag
    • When you're a dancer, a dance bag is one thing you’re going to want to bring with you. Whether you take one or ten classes, you’ll need enough items for dance that you won’t want to carry around in your two hands. A dance bag is a great way to keep all of your belongings where they need to be without worrying where you placed something.
  • Dance Shoes
    • First off, dance shoes of course! Never wear your dance shoes outside. Instead, wear your outside shoes into the studio lobby and prepare to change into your dance shoes right before class starts. This is an easy way to help keep your dance shoes in the best condition. If you take multiple classes that require different shoes, you’ll also want to keep your extra shoes in your dance bag to make sure all your things stay together.
  • Hair accessories
    • Remember that one hair tie you swore was on your wrist? Now it’s time for dance class and that hair tie is nowhere to be found. Keeping a few hair ties in your dance bag will help keep your hair out of your face. If you need anything else for your hair (brush, bobby pins, ect.) in order to put it up, make sure to also bring those with you. This will help eliminate calling your parents to bring you one and help keep you on time and prepared for dance class.
  • Extra tights and leotards
    • Have you ever had some tights rip on you right before class? This happens so often, you’re not the only one. For dance class, you need no ripped tights. How easy would it be to just grab the tights already in your bag instead of having to buy a whole new pair because you left your other ones at home? Forgetting an item or ripping an item happens so often, so go ahead and prepare for the worst, you never know when they'll come in handy.
  • Spare Change
    • So you forgot your snack or your water bottle and you just can't make it until you get picked up. Keep a few dollars in your dance bag  and purchase a snack at the studio snack bar.
  • Homework
    • Dance can take up a lot of time depending on how many classes you may take. Stay on top of your classes when you can. This can be catching up on reading or finishing an assignment.
  • Snacks
    • Maybe you didn’t have enough time to go home after school or maybe you were spending your time finishing some homework. No need to worry, pack some healthy snacks, not only will it keep you feeling full but it will help stimulate your brain.
  • Water bottle
    • Dancing can be a lot of hard work and it can be easy to get dehydrated. Always make sure your dance bag has one to two water bottles to keep you hydrated
  • Bandages
    • Cuts and scrapes can happen at any time! Be sure to always keep a few bandages of a few different sizes just in case.
  • Deodorant
    • We know you're working hard in dance class and may need refresh. Add deodorant to your bag for those just incase moments.
  • Knee Pads
    • Knee pads are a great item to have as you never know when you're learning the new coolest trick and want to be sure you keep your knees safe and bruise free.

Not to worry, everyone’s dance bag will look a little different. Maybe you don’t drink water or maybe you always wear your hair up and don’t need hair accessories. Whatever is going in your dance bag, make sure it’s catered to fit you and your dancer needs.
