Happy Holidays – A Big Thank You to Our Volunteers.

As another year draws to a close, everyone will be in the midst of preparation for this Holiday season. This is very special time of the year as it gives most of us the occasion to spend time with friends and family that is all too often missing for the rest of the year.  I urge each of you to reflect on these moments and savor the time with your loved ones.

While keeping with the spirit of this joyous time, I would like to reflect on the opportunity to be involved in such an active, caring, Parkinson’s community.  I am very grateful to be able to serve as CAP’s Chairman for the last three years. This past year, without a doubt, was an exciting year for CAP.  As an organization, we made great strides in fulfilling our mission to support the Parkinson’s Community.  I know in the non-profit world, there is no greater reward than working with passionate volunteers in an outstanding organization.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the leaders of our three support groups Allyson Kinney, VickiAnn Manville, and Michelle Hespeler. They are the unsung heroes in our organization. They put in countless hours of volunteer time throughout the year, ensuring our members have the opportunity to learn, network, and socialize.

To my fellow CAP Board Members, I thank them for the dedication to the success of CAP and their tremendous input to the governance of our organization. Many CAP Board members work tirelessly behind the scenes, but their work is much appreciated.

Lastly, my sincere appreciation to the many volunteers you helped in the implementation of our new PD Center, those who worked to make our Gala a tremendous success, and the countless others who contribute in so many other ways to help Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson’s fulfill its mission.

I have formed many relationships within the CAP community that I value tremendously.  I am inspired by the countless stories of hope and perseverance.  I would like to wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season.  Please remain hopeful, as I know a cure is just over the horizon.

If you have Parkinson’s and CAP can help you in any way this holiday season or any time of the year, please email or give me a call.  CAP is here to serve you.

Warm Regards,
